Was one of the most famous Czech illustrator, director of animated films, writer and cartoonist. Jiránek became famous thanks to their animated characters: the rabbit out of the hat Bob and Bobek or "masters" Pat and Mat. Besides cartoons he illustrated many books and created a number of short films and bedtime. Czech President Vaclav Klaus gave Vladimir Jiranek Medal of Merit, in 2005.
